a broadway view bench seat and other perfect things about the Belleclaire hotel
where I stayed in NYC and my critique on this boutique classic
Hotel Belleclaire - classic yet updated, my sister and I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to land after days full of fashion week events and city exploration.
It’s been awhile since I have been greeted by a bellman and ushered into a timeless lobby for hotel check in. As a hospitality aficionado - the Belleclaire checked so many boxes for me. The staff: utterly kind and accommodating (switching our room without hesitation because I wanted the bench seat overlooking Broadway). The room: quaint yet upscale, minimalistic but ever so comfy. The clientele: french, eastern european, and domestic travellers like myself - conversing in the bakery every morning over a croissant and iced latte.
I’ve heard whispers of a new travel trend called sleep tourism, where tourists seek the perfect night of sleep as their primary motivation in hotel selection. I may not be an expert on this phenomenon, but if I was, the beds at Hotel Belleclaire would rank high.
A 10-minute stroll to the American Museum of Natural History and central park (the true place I began my love affair with nyc), and 5 minutes to the 1,2, and 3 metro lines, the location was perfect for anyone wanting a more calm refuge from the famous NYC chaos.
Our stay was just short of heavenly. This author is not always the gentlest critic, but I would recommend the Hotel Belleclaire in my highest remarks.
