and just like a hollywood starlet, I took to the desert
There are moments in my life where I think… that’s a definitely a core part of my personality. Like the sort of things where everyone agrees yeah, you do love xxx. On tuesday morning I was feeling restless and stuck, I thought to myself - I really haven’t traveled as much as I used to. The funny thing is, it had only been barely 4 weeks since I was on a plane. Oops 🙈
For me - travel will always be integral to who I am. From the outside its like a toxic addiction - I spend most of my money on it, I’ll quit jobs for it, I’ve even broken up with past lovers for it.. But it’s an addiction that keeps on giving. In life experiences and lessons, which is all I want anyway.
So I decided to relapse again - didn’t tell a soul and booked a hotel in Palm Springs for the night. Something that is so me is texting my loved ones “I’m in the desert, won’t be home tonight”. Apologies to my worried mother.
It ended up being one of the best solo-trips I’ve had and just what I needed. I listened to cowboy music the whole way {see my previous article for the playlist ;)} and arrived to ARRIVE by Palisociety. One of my fav boutique hotel chains, the architecture and vibe was stunning. Modern yet fun, adaptive to the environment, and great amenities. A coffee shop and an ice cream shop on premise, and a complimentary pina colada on arrival.
last photo - I had to leave my calling card of course.
My room was the King Studio - complete with a comfy bed, walk in shower, funky decor, and the most adorable vintage mini fridge. I spent my time at the pool or watching Sex and the City in my robe. The pool stays open until midnight, a necessity for the famous palm springs pool parties during coachella and peak season. Boho yet not cliche, luxury but not too expensive, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get away from the fast pace of LA.
Thank you to ARRIVE Palm Springs (not sponsored just obsessed). I’ll be back soon :)
